How Breathwork Changed My Life.
Quality, not quantity
Hello, my name is Melissa and I am here to share with you how breathwork and meditation has transformed my life. When I tragically lost my mom, I found myself rapidly spiraling out of control. I felt as though I was losing my sense of self and direction in life. It felt as though my entire world had been shattered, leaving me falling into a never-ending abyss of darkness. After exhausting all attempts to numb the pain, I decided that enough was enough. I delved deeper into the therapy I was already undergoing and decided to intensify my spiritual journey through a retreat. Intending to find clarity and peace amidst the chaos of my daily life, I embarked on a journey to Sedona, Arizona. Little did I know that this experience would not only bring me clarity but also trigger a profound spiritual awakening and a newfound sense of enlightenment.
Seeking to sustain this newfound sense of enlightenment, I started searching for the nearest studio that offered sound baths and breathwork. I even started doing cold plunge baths and red light therapy which both have incredible benefits inside and out. With that being said, the profound impact of these healing techniques has ignited a desire within me to continue my spiritual journey and explore further avenues of self-discovery and growth. Along with helping others to find theirs. What a truly healing experience!
What is moving to me is a story I would like to share with you that impacted my health and what kickstarted all of this in gear.
On October 24, 2023, at around 5 am, I woke up in agony. The pain in my bladder was excruciating, unlike anything I had ever experienced before. It felt as if my bladder and urethra were engulfed in flames, ready to burst at any moment. Desperate for answers, I had been visiting countless doctors for months, but all I received was a disheartening diagnosis of IC (Interstitial Cystitis), an inflammation of the bladder with no known cure. They suggested support groups and antidepressants, but I couldn't accept that as my fate. Determined to find relief from this unbearable pain, I continued my relentless search for a solution, as living in those moments felt unbearable.
Finally, after a fortunate alignment of stars, I decided to pursue a holistic approach to my health. I was doing ice plunge baths, red light therapy, infrared sauna, earthing techniques, etc. After doing my extensive research, I stumbled upon a few quantum health coaches, ultimately realizing it had to be my diet which led me to an elimination diet. This proved to be the most challenging aspect, as it required me to eliminate all acidic, oxalate, preserved/cured foods from my diet. It was an emotionally heartbreaking experience. However, I persevered and continued with this terribly bland diet; I incorporated prayer, meditation, and breathwork into my daily routine. It was during this time that I noticed a significant shift in my overall well-being. Not only was my mental state and nervous system improving, but I also observed a slow healing process within my body, particularly in my bladder. I strongly believe that breathwork not only aids in my mental and emotional state but also addresses the cellular inflammation that has plagued my body for an unknown period of time.
